The 2020 Collective Rights Management Working Group Meeting
We would like to inform our artists, shareholders, associates, rights holders, partners and other interested parties that we will be attending the Collective Rights Management Working Group Meeting for CMOs on 22 April 2020. The IPO has put in place the measures needed to protect everyone attending from COVID-19 infection.
The agenda for the day, as sent to us by the Collective Rights Team at the IPO, is as follows:
- COVID-19 – to discuss the impact on licensing activities and any other effects on the work of CMOs, such as annual general meetings.
- Recent regulatory work.
- ATRs.
- Post-implementation review of the CRM Regulations.
- CRM after EU exit – including DACS’s suggestion on the CRM Regulations and on European relationships going forward.
- Any other business.
The IPO has told us we may submit further suggestions for any topic we would like to raise.
Our CMO will be represented by our CEO, who will put some additional points to the working group on the CRM Regulations, on European relationships, and on the way certain countries are breaching Directive 2014/26/EU in order to protect local interests at the expense of UK CMOs.
We were also told that earlier this year the IPO published both its Annual Review and its updated service standards, following a review of its internal processes. Both can be read via the links above.
